Johan Skullman is a former officer and equipment tester in the Swedish military who has changed career paths and now works as a freelance consultant for Fjällräven. What Johan doesn’t know about survival in the mountains, jungle, at high or low altitude, above and under water is not worth knowing. His curiosity is such that he makes sure he tests all new products himself out in the field, with the same care he would give in preparing for any of his winter expeditions (and he has been on more than a few). Johan grew up in the forests of Kolmården with orienteering and skiing as his favourite activities and even today he can’t resist an adventure race – just to get out there in the great outdoors.

Favourite place in Sweden: “My beloved Kolmården, and the St. Anna archipelago on the Swedish east coast of course”.

Best travel tips: “Go where your curiosity takes you, as often as you can! Travel with the people you want to share your experiences with. Carpe Diem!”

Dream trip: “The Russian Taiga with its endless forests and lakes”.
